Las Vegas, Nevada— For the second year in a row, Fine Homebuilding held its KeepCraftAlive Fundraising Event at the International Builders Show and drew a sold out crowd of builders, designers, educators, industry experts and influencers. All proceeds from the event were donated directly to the KeepCraftAlive Scholarship Fund with SkillsUSA in an effort to offer those who are passionate about careers in the trades the financial means to continue their training and education.
The event, sponsored by Certainteed, Pella, Diamondback Toolbelts, Advantech, Zip System and Olfa, is a time for passionate craftsmen and women from across North America to connect, share ideas and tips for improving the standards of building and to usher in a new era of energy into the residential construction industry. KeepCraftAlive Executive Director, Rob Yagid, addressed the crowd in a welcome that included a new 2019 commitment by Fine Homebuilding. “The energy we all feel in this room tonight can’t be isolated to one event each year. That’s why Fine Homebuilding is bringing this campaign into your cities, towns and neighborhoods in 2019. We’re building an army of passionate building professionals organized under KeepCraftAlive regional chapters.” He stated, adding “It is the people in this room, and those like us, who will advocate for the policies and practices that will shape the future of homebuilding. It will be built by us and we will create a welcoming community to anyone who is committed to working with their hands and building the best homes possible.”
Those interested in participating in this new outreach effort are encouraged to contact Yagid and Fine Homebuilding Editorial Director, Justin Fink at info@keepcraftalive.org. Justin Fink concluded the speaking portion of the event by introducing a host of new Fine Homebuilding Ambassadors. These carefully selected individuals live the Fine Homebuilding ethos and will be subjects of Fine Homebuilding’s content delivery and events throughout the year across the country.
